The past few months, I have been in mind clearing, relaxation mode, chasing Guadalupe bass around rivers in the Texas Hill Country, which is completely different from Big Bass fishing on a lake. This makes the transition between the two, in a short two week span, difficult. On top of that, this tournament is on a lake that I have never been to, and I know little to nothing about. So, as you can imagine, I am stressing out about what to do.
Do I have the right line on my reels, what rods do I take, and what lures and presentations will I fish? What size stinger do I need to win, where will I fish, And how deep are the majority of good fish holding? Oh so many questions to ponder.
To add the the chaos and frustration, this is a busy week for me, there is not a tackle store within 75 miles of me (at least), and my camera is broken...hmm...the stress is mounting.
But, the stress is mounting in a good way. I miss the competition that often drives me, and I am ready to get back to a lack of sleep, many miles driven, and heart pounding days on the water. I am ready to fish tournaments again.
Bring on Lake O. H. Ivie, and bring on the 2013 tournament season. I am ready to get after it and catch some big bass.
