I spent a few days on the Devils River, away from civilization. There
was no cell phone service, so there was no way for me to keep up with my
Every Day in May.
As promised, I would still write on those days and post them when I got
back. I wanted to write about each days experience while also tying it
into the topic for that day. This is the post from May 8th:

Brooks working on a plan to film Dolan Falls |
Day 3 on the Devils River begins with
Dolan Falls. One of the most scenic waterfalls in Texas. Although it is not very big, it is cool and it is relatively difficult to portage with super heavy boats (so travel light if you are going.) We spent all morning hatching a plan on how to film the hosts in Dolan Falls and how to portage the kayaks around. If your heading down, bring a little rope and portage down the limestone chute just to the left of the falls. Have someone in the water below to catch your boats.

Scenery from Day 3 |
Day 3 note: Don't miss your Night 3 campsite (or intentionally skip it as in our case) it will be hard to find another place to stop!
